Cutting to required size

On a small scale, as at home with DIY enthusiasts, stainless steel can be cut with a circular saw or hacksaw. However, on an industrial level, when you need larger parts cut with precision, neatness, and precision, there are three main methods that provide consistently reliable, quality results.

PLASMA CUTTING

A plasma cutter uses an electric arc, created by a plasma torch, to cut even fairly thick pieces of stainless steel without much difficulty. The arc is formed by an inert gas that is focused from the nozzle to the cutting surface. The gas is converted into a plasma beam that can make precise and precise cuts. This inexpensive method is fully automated and computerized, meaning you can simply email your prints to us and we will cut your material to your exact specifications.

LASER CUTTING

Laser cutting is a stable, accurate, and reliable method for cutting stainless steel, resulting in a smooth, blemish-free, ready-to-weld cut without the need for any additional machining. It has a very small cutting width and a small heat zone, which means it is ideal for cutting small holes or very intricate shapes.

CNC laser cutters are some of the most common cutters and use a capacitive height control system to maintain a very precise distance between the end of the nozzle and the plate being cut. This is important because the distance determines the focal point in relation to the surface of the plate.

CUTTING BY WATER JET

This method is ideal for those jobs that require very tight tolerances and almost no machining. It is also the preferred method when experiencing sensitivity to high temperatures, such as those generated by plasma and laser cutting. Waterjet cutting is more expensive than plasma cutting, but reducing the need for machining saves time and labor, and therefore money.
